Catholic Womans' Almanac

This has to be really quick as I've got a million things to do today.

Moments of Gratitude

62.  Relaxing weekend with my sister & niceces
63.  Diagnosed ear infection for Sophie
64.  Medication
65.  Healing
66.  Marriage Class

Praying...

Praying for Pope Benedict XVI, The Church, conversions & continued grace.

Cooking...

Menu is planned for the next two weeks and the grocery list is done.  This makes life so much easier.  I spent the time doing this Saturday afternoon while Adam took the kids sliding and my sister and I enjoyed afternoon coffee.  A few items

:: Vegetable Beef Soup (working on cleaning out the freezer)
:: Pasties
:: Pork Tenderloin
:: Chicken (We get whole chickens from the local farmer.  In the winter I put them in the crock pot)
:: Tilapia
:: Chicken Alfredo
:: Chicken Noodle Soup
:: Tacos/Rice
:: Fish Fry

Creating...

Sacrifice Beads given to me by a dear new friend.  Otherwise I'm not creating anything at the moment

Reading...

I'm reading the same.

Looking Ahead...

Oh there's a little trouble on the horizon.  Today was supposed to be going to the Hub Hobby store as a family and then Costco.  Instead, Adam will take the kids and I'm going to the dentist.  Unscheduled.  Nothing good will come from this.  Well, I guess good could come if I can squeak out of there without having to come back or go to an oral surgeon.  I'm thinking abscess tooth.

Tomorrow I go to the orthopedic surgeon for what I hope is my last visit.

Do I sound old?  I'm thinking so.  From one thing to another.

Looking back....
Oh I had a fabulous dinner with my friend S.  We went to our old favorite Figlio's in a new location.  It was just as good as it was back in the day of Lake & Calhoun.  We had the same thing, mixed field greens, pasta (too bad I cant' remember the name but it was all goodness).  We shared Death by Chocolate.  It pretty much was.

The meeting I had with our parish priest, more than likely it will bear fruit, I just need to get approval from one other source.  Then I will share the rest with you.

Listening to...

girls play.  And for fun, here's a conversation I had with Sophie on the way to pick Karley up from school.

"Are all sharks bad?"

"Well, some are probably good"

"Are all bad sharks in the lake?"

"No sharks are in the ocean and I wouldn't let you swim where there are bad sharks"

"But dolphins are good, right Mom?"

"Yes, dolphins are good."

"Do sharks and dolphins share a room?"

"Uh, no.  They have their own rooms"

Pondering....

Oh, I'm pondering something good...but hit cut and pasted it into a new post.  Stop back later because I could really use some good Catholic women to help me out with this.

Caputured.....

I missed a great opportunity to take some wonderful pictures on the way to Mass yesterday.  Every branch on every tree was covered in frost and it was foggy, yet the sun was peeking through.  It was so beautiful.  I hardly think my husband would have been willing to be late for my photography fun nor the 7 other people in the car.

Hope you are off to a good start to the week.  I'm on my way to find out if my tooth has rotted from the inside out.  Nice huh.

Joining the lovely (not as crude about teeth) ladies at Suscipio.

  2. Maybe your daughter is worried about the dolphins?

    A two-week menu complete with a shopping list! I have to admire you for that!

    I hope your medical and dental visits turn out as you would have them. Have a good week :-)

  3. Tina, I am so impressed at how far in advance you plan your meals! I do a week at a time, usually including one "cheater" meal (something semi-homemade).

    I love overhearing cute play conversations!

    Praying for your health.

    (I tried to post before, but I don't think it came through...if it did, I am sorry for the dupe. comment!)

    Enjoy your week!

  7. Sounds like a great week -- despite the fun with your tooth. I think I'm getting old too. If it isn't one thing it's another :o).

    Blessings!
