Wow! My Pictures!

I wanted to share the wonderful talents of my friend Erin. She does photography out of her home in Elk River and is very reasonably priced! Very!!! She can tell you about her specials. I know how hard it can be to shuffle your kids in and out of places like ( know, in the mall). This was pretty relaxing and I just wanted to share because it was so nice and I am in love with these photos!

I brought my kids there today and was able to view the pictures this afternoon. As she gets busier that may not always be the case but she seems pretty timely!

We were there a little over an hour and Henry wanted to stay! Look at all these pictures! The great thing about this? She is sending me a CD in the mail along with a "rights" letter. This means I will be able to pick which pictures I want, whenever I want, to print them. And as many! Oh, and I decide where to print. How convenient it that?

Henry's Birthday, Again?

Since my Mom, Step-Dad, Sister and her girls weren't able to make Henry's birthday the first go around due to "flu like symptoms" we had a little impromptu birthday gathering on Sunday.  He, of course, was more than happy to get more presents!  I ended  up taking a lot of  photos of Karley only because she was so cute and messy while eating her cupcake.

Without further ado......

The Breakfast Club - One

Happy Birthday Little Big Boy X 3

This is Henry's buddy.  She gladly plays with the younger kids.  They make houses, forts, go the store, make supper and just about anything imaginable.  Henry just loves playing with Hannah.  I secretly wanted her to stay the rest of the week because I am almost on auto pilot when she's here.  The dad after they left Henry re-created all the forts and houses they made and told Muffin what to do and where to sit.  It was super cute to watch and listen.  We love you Hannah Bear!

It's so fun to have my nieces come and stay with us.

Have a wonderful day!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Over the weekend we went to the local hot spot Mudd Lake Furniture Store.  To say it's a furniture store is a little deceiving because they not only sell furniture but they also sell fun things to add to your home.   When I was there previously for a MckGathering I spied some really nice green canisters.  I've been thinking that would be nice to have some old school canisters on my counter-top.  But they were gone, so  I decided on a house warming gift for a friend.  I can't post a picture of it now but perhaps just prior to her moving into her new log home!

I really wanted to go this weekend because Santa was paying a visit to Mudd Lake.  I was all over this idea because I knew it would be the picture perfect place to get a snap shot with the man in red.  Not to mention being able to avoid lines and all the rigamaroll (sp) of say any mall.  This was just the place for me us.

Henry was amazing!  He loved Santa.  Had a conversation with him!  I think he is starting to get the idea that Santa is going to bring presents down the chimney as he has asked, "Where is Santa going to drop the presents?"

I think Henry was telling Santa that he is two....he forgets he is now three.  I also think he wants to still be two!

Or wait...maybe he wants to be four?

Sugar Pie did a great job!

She's happy!

But this little Muffin.  Not so much.
She immediately cried when she saw Santa.
There wasn't any way to get her near him.

My nieces are old pros when it comes to Santa.

They even made lists.

We did a little shopping....
Muffin came around....
a little.
This was as close as she would get.

Rather, this was as close as she would get...
with help from Gram.

You might be able to tell, I was hoping to get a Christmas card picture and maybe I did.  We'll see.  I hope to capture a better picture.  Just in case I don't I'll hold off sharing any more of our Mudd Lake adventure.

It was a beautiful day!

Still....Under Construction

I had hoped to start "Favorite Things" today, but since my blog is still under construction with the transition from my blogspot domain to "Go Daddy"?? and the fact that comments still aren't available (for reasons unknown to me) I am going to wait.  That was a long sentence.  It probably wasn't even a sentence was it?

Next Friday will be "Black Friday" so let's just start the first Friday of December.  Maybe all you Black Friday shoppers will be able to post some new favorite things you might have come across?

My sister and her two girls are coming today and then my Mom is coming tomorrow.  I am excited to have them all here.  It's bonus for me because Big Daddy will be working late tonight as well as all weekend.  I think his "project" will be finished on Sunday.  Cross your fingers for me us!  It will be nice to have him home at a decent hour and home on the least one day.

My sister will be here Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for a surgical nursing class!  It will be nice to spend some time with her.  Maybe we'll even catch a movie or something?  Shopping?  We might head to Mudd Lake this weekend!  She's a Twilight fan and would love to see New Moon but I haven't read any of those books.  Have you?  Did you enjoy them?  I wish you could tell me!  I'll be working on that soon!

Have a great weekend everybody!

Oh Baby!

Posted by Picasa

Even though I am "under construction"  I just had to share.

I am looking through pictures and come to this one.

I just sat and stared at it.

My baby is not a baby anymore.

Major Construction

Well, I am happy to say that I have a new name for my blog!

It is:

My Priceless Fishers

My sad news.....I am not able to receive comments right now.  I am hoping that this is part of the transition.  If it's not....I am lost.  I am going to give it until I know that the transition is complete and then get back to work with disqus or regular blogger comments.  Whichever...just so I can post and get a holler back!

Hope you are having a great day!

The Cross

The Cross

I really have to get this on paper before I forget or perhaps he doesn't say it anymore.  I am sure one day Little Big Boy will call this a "cross" but for now, it's a "cross of a church".  He seems them everywhere.  With excitement he yells, "It's a cross of a church Mom".  Last week we were at the cemetery, and he was saddened that, "that cross of a church is broken, Mom".  I replied, "oh hunny, it's not broken it's just laying down on it's side".  It was a cross laying sideways over the top of a headstone.

During our last full moon, which you could see from our breakfast bar, Little Big Boy told us there was a cross of a church outside.  Huh?  Big Daddy told him no Buddy, it's the moon.  LBB insisted.  Sure enough when we kept looking we could see how the light of the moon cast a cross from it!  Isnt' that something?
My Little Big Boy likes to draw pictures for the priest in our local church and also for the priest at the church we attend.  I have yet to hand them over, I almost want to keep them and put them in his "box of memories".  Each time he sees the pictures on my dresser he says, "that's for Father A and that one is for Father B".  "Yes, hunny they are."  I suppose I should give them up because I am sure they would like to know that somebody is thinking of them and drawing pictures for them and their fridge!

My Little Big Boy knows Jesus and I hope that I can help him continue on that path.

Have a great day!

Not Me! Monday

Wanna join Not Me! Monday?  Head on over to MckMama's blog and link up with the rest of the crew.  I am sure it's going to be a big crew as it's been awhile.  It's fun.....come on!!!

My first one is an "us" as we were in innkahoots (sp?).

My husband and I would never encourage our Little Big Boy to be okay with eating dinner at BW3's with wet peed in pants.  Because, you know, if we did know that he had an accident we would have to grab drive through and just head our 40 minute trek home in disappoinment.  But since he was okay with it, heck, we could be okay with it right?  Not us!  We'd do the right thing.  And then my husband would never say in the middle of dinner, "Oh buddy, you spilled your milk."  to cover up what we'd already allowed.  Not us!

BTW....I am in shear amazement that on this occasion he actually was okay with this.  Because generally anything that is remotely wet (from water, come on, it was only this one time) he has to have the article of clothing removed immediately.  I now have the diaper bag packed with pants and not just clean underwear.  But anyway, it didn't happen to us, Not US!

I'd made a delish dinner last night!  It wasn't me, Not Me! who had to pick tephlon flakes out the mashed potatoes I made.  Why would anybody have to pick tephlon out of mashed potatoes you ask?  Well, let's just say....mixing the mashed with beaters in a tephlon pan....ya....doesn't mix.  You get mashed potatoes with tephlon.  I would never pick the pieces out and serve it to my littles.  Not Me!

How about you....what don't you do?  Make sure you leave me a comment so I can read your Not Me's!

Have a great Monday!

Favorite Things

Good Morning or Good afternoon, perhaps Good Evening?!

This might be long, so grab a cup of joe and have a seat!

I had my blog on my mind a lot lately.  As you can see I've got a new look.  It took a long time for me to figure this all out.  I am not a HTML code expert but I had fun with it!  I've thought it would be fun to design blogs some day.  Not anytime soon as I am really slow and need to learn more about all this code.  I made this change and then the next day I wanted to change it again!  Instead I decided to re-focus and figure out what I am doing with my blog name before proceeding.

That being said I have realized that I have not given out my Starbucks or Caribou card yet.  I am sorry for the delay.  I am hoping to make a decision about the title/URL soon.  I've been thinking of pieces some of your suggestions together, keep the blog similar to what it is, and then I've thought of a few ideas completely different.  I was close....I was going to change the URL to but it's gone.  I also thought of living my dream....that's gone too.  I think "the fisher dream" was available.  I just want to make sure it's right before I change it because once it's's done.  I like that Amanda is i am mommy, MckMama is well, you know, MckMama, etc.  I thought of having my name "" but that's gone too.  Seems as if all the simple things I want are all taken....I must be late to the game.  I am still thinking and if you are can let me know what your thoughts are on this post or the Starbucks or Caribou post or you can e-mail me as well.  Whichever, you know, because I check it all out!  So bear with the construction, please?

It's been a long week and another long week ahead of us.  Big Daddy has been super busy on a project at work.  It should come to an end by the end of next week.  We are thankful that's he's had this opportunity because all in all his work has been slow.  He's been gone before the sun comes up (when it does) and home after the kids are in bed.  Things have been a little loosey goosey around here which is fine because I can't run a tight ship for days on end.  Laundry is backed up, kids have been having extra snacks, and you know, whatever works so Mommy isn't frazzled to pieces by two weeks end.

What else?

Since having all these ideas about my blog I've had to start writing them all down.  I thought about doing a "favorite things carnival".   Here's why.  I was getting Sophie dressed the other day and I thought about the little shoes (leather slippers) that I put on her and was thinking how these are my favorite things.  Why, because they keep her socks on and then her feet stay warm not to mention they're cute!  I used them with all my babes.  It brought me to thinking that I should blog about it and then I thought would people comment and tell me their favorite things?  After all, we are all about sharing right?   We'll see how it goes.  How about Friday's Favorites?  I'll do it MckLinky style and if you want to join please do!  I don't expect a list of a 1,234,890 people but if just one person adds...well then that will be good enough.  Or hey if nobody does, then you just get me and my favorite thing.  Can be anything....whatever happens to be your favorite.  Remember when I did this post about Brazilian Nut shower gel and lotion...something like that.  Maybe a picture if you have it?

I'll start it next Friday, that will give me time to get my MckLinky all ready, think of another favorite thing and
for you to think of your favorite thing!

Have a great day!  Talk to you tomorrow perhaps?

Grandma B

Adam's Grandma B came over for a somewhat impromptu visit.  She couldn't make Henry's birthday party but was driving through the next day so she decided to stop. It's always nice to see her especially since she usually mentions a story about Adam's Mom, Karla.  It's just nice to hear.

This visit was Grandma's first time seeing her newest Great Grandchild.

The kids had a good time visiting her as well.

Did I mention Reggie?

He made himself right at home!

The kids loved him too!

Kisses for Great Grandma!

Thanks for stopping in Grandma!

Potato Soup Recipe

This is a requested recipe from my dear old friend Morgan. Hope you enjoy!

Slow Cooker Potato Soup

Makes 8-10 Servings

8 large potatoes, cubed
2 medium onions, chopped
3 Tbsp butter or margarine
1/2 - 1 lb bacon, cooked crisp, drained, and crumbled
3 chicken bouillon cubes
2 Tbsp dried parsley
6 C water
2 C milk
1/2 C flour
1/4 C water
1 tsp salt
1/4 to 1/2 tsp pepper

Combine all ingredients (except flour, 1/4 cup water salt and pepper) in large slow cooker.

Cover. Cook on High for 6 hours, and then Low for 3 hours.

Make paste out of flour and water. Stir into soup one hour before serving. Season with salt and pepper.

Top with cheese, sour cream & chives if you have them.

Make Cheesy Potato Soup by adding 1/4 lb cubed Velveeta, or your choice of cheese during the last hour of cooking.

For added richness, use 1 C whole milk and 1 C of evaporated milk.

Morgan.....I like the variations! Also, I didn't have time to let it cook the full time and it really did need it. So I just shelved it and then when I ate it I put it in a pan on the stove to finish cooking. I do like the crock method because like you probably don't have a lot of time to do much at the "witching" time of dinner!!!

Good luck and let me know how it went!

Henry's 3rd Birthday Part 2

As I mentioned in the previous post we didn't get to the presents on his actual he opened them the next morning. By the way, do you ever notice that our kids are in their pajamas a lot? Or a t-shirt? I have!

Henry hammed it right up for the camera. I think they both are starting to get that I am going to take 1,232,456 pictures for each event. How do I know? Because they are walking around saying, "Cheese" and have a "camera" to their eyes.

We all love Playmobile!

It was a Thomas birthday so it only seemed right to get a movie.

This little miss....she wasn't happy with the fact she didn't have any presents. Thankfully Henry let her operate some of his Handy Mandy cars.

Here's the next day, (yes we had a birthday weekend).

YEAH! More Playmobile! This one actually shoots water, but sshhh, don't tell!

And every boy loves John Deere.

Look at this little cutie! He's my Godson!

Wait there's another cutie pie. He loves to have his picture taken. Can you see why? He's so photogenic!

The grand finale.  Here it is. The blue monster! Adam and I were up late the night before the party cooking and cake decorating. The last thing on the list was this big blue. I did her up and Adam turned around and burst out laughing. He couldn't believe I did this. Blue cake. Blue cake all over kids clothing. Blue cake all over thier hands. Blue cake. Blue cake all over our light colored carpeting. Blue cake. So by the time it I was putting the letters on we were pretty slap happy and I was laughing so hard the letters barely spelled, "Happy Birthday Henry". But they did. The cake was still good eats. There was just blue cake everywhere.

You know what? Henry loved it. He didn't care. His blue cake matched Thomas. Thomas is blue. So there you go. Blue Cake.

Henry's 3rd Birthday Part 1

I was going to say that I baking Thursday morning but I don't think I did, wait....yes I did.  I'm telling you, my brain is fried.  I did bake the cake Thursday morning and I let the kids eat the beaters for breakfast.  Why not?  Didn't you eat the beaters?  I thought so.  So here's he is birthday eve morning.

When Daddy got home we loaded up and took the kids to Chuck E Cheese.  It was against our better judgment to bring our three littles to a germ (H1N1??) infested playground.  Since it was his birthday we did it anyway.  I must admit the whole time I was thinking about how germy it might have been.  I tried to tell myself, "Who would bring their sick kids out???  It will be okay!"  And it was, thankfully!

Henry had a blast.  He totally "got" the slide the money in the slot thing and the ride/game starts up.  He wasn't afraid of the moving rides as he has been in the past.  It was so fun to watch him.  My big little boy.

Wait....don't scroll down!  I must tell you that I was super excited to make my first two-tier cake.

Don't scroll

I thought I would put a raspberry gel filled center in it and I would decorate it so cute.  You know, like i am baker, but let's just say it didn't turn out nearly as nice as the rainbow cake or anything else I've seen dear Amanda create.  And Amanda said to me as I was soliciting her advice on the cake was it won't matter because it's from mommy.  Well, she was right, Henry isn't a cake expert but looking back (as I hope to get better) he'll probably laugh and probably even harder when you see the cake for the party.  Anywho...scroll it is.  Remember, it tasted better than it looked!

We got home late and tried to put the kids straight to bed and bypass the cake and presents.  Yes, I know, that's bad.  It was after all his birthday!  No worries, they weren't going to bed without cake.  But little H was perfectly happy with opening his presents in the morning.  What a relief!

I must say,Thursday night after I decorated my beauty of a cake I went to H's room and just cried.  He's just not a baby anymore.  It makes me sad to even think of it now.  I am excited for him to be more independent, learn more things, and to be able to do more with him.  At the same time, I am sad he's not little anymore.  It's such a bittersweet feeling.

More pictures from the party on Part 2.

Have great day!
